Town of Pearisburg Comprehensive Plan Update
A comprehensive plan is a long-range document that guides decision-making relating to growth, development, investments, and resources.
It includes local values and priorities to create a cohesive vision for the Town's future.
According to Code of Virginia Sec 15.5-2200, the County is vested with powers to plan for the future development of the community.
A comprehensive plan is a plan for the physical development of the territory within the locality’s jurisdiction.
Since 1980, each Virginia locality has been required to have a comprehensive plan.
The Comprehensive Plan is required to be reviewed by the local planning commission at least once every five years from the date of adoption and updated every ten years.
